Shared Bikes

Bike sharing is a fast, convenient, and healthy way to cover the final part of your journey, such as from the train station or bus stop to your workplace or school.

Bike sharing is a fast, convenient, and healthy way to cover the final part of your journey, such as from the train station or bus stop to your workplace or school. In Leiden, Oegstgeest, and Katwijk, all rides up to 30 minutes are free, allowing you to pick up and drop off a bike at any hub, even close to your destination, at no cost. Simply download the app to get started!

Free Rides from Hub to Hub in Leiden, Katwijk, and Oegstgeest

Around Leiden (including the Bio Science Park), Katwijk, and Oegstgeest, the first 30 minutes of each ride are free for everyone until June 2025. New hubs can be added in convenient spots, allowing you to park your bike right by your workplace or school (email your suggestions to deelfiets@pzh.nl). Keeping trips under 30 minutes means you can ride for free every time! Watch this video with Alderman Ashley North’s encouragement: “Get cycling!”

Orange bikes are also available in The Hague, Rotterdam, and Drechtsteden. While not always free, we’re offering vouchers for three months of free bike sharing in these areas.

Work or Study at the Bio Science Park? Join the Bike Sharing Initiative!

We’re looking for at least 25 people who regularly travel from Leiden Central Station and would use an orange bike to reach their destination. Download the app and start cycling! We’d also love your feedback—please reach out at deelfiets@pzh.nl.

Live in Oegstgeest or Leiden’s Vogelwijk or Raadsherenbuurt? Help Us Take Bike Sharing to the Next Level

We’re seeking at least 25 people living within cycling distance of Leiden Central who are willing to ride a shared bike to the station instead of their own. This test is part of the Wisselfiets initiative, aimed at saving station space. Download the app, start riding, and provide your feedback. As part of this trial, we’re offering unlimited access to bikes for just €10/month (or free during the test period), with access extending to shared bikes in The Hague, Rotterdam, Dordrecht, and Amsterdam for use both before and after train rides. Interested? Email us at deelfiets@pzh.nl!
